Our Class Expectations…

Behavior Respect: Students will
learn to show respect toward themselves, peers, adults and property. They will show this through words and
actions. Open Circle: This social
competency program builds community and emphasizes ongoing social skills,
shared responsibility, and teamwork. The teacher models respect, caring and
high expectations for all students. Students participate in discussions that
focus on these lessons. If there are any social
difficulties or concern with your child in class, on the bus or on the
playground, please let me know immediately so we can resolve the situation. Instrumental
lessons: Students leave room for a 45 minute lesson on
Wednesdays 10:30 – 11:15. If your
child forgets his instrument, I will allow him/her to call home before 9:00. Daily schedule will be posted so students will know the structure of their school
day. Study habits: Assignment notebooks will be used daily and students are expected to
do up to an hour of homework every night. This will include Everyday Math, Words Their Way, Independent Reading,
and at times other academic assignments.
