Our Homework Policy…

Your child has received an Assignment Book for organizing his/her
homework requirements. Students write
their own homework assignments in this notebook. Homework will be given out on a daily
basis, except for Friday. If homework is incomplete, students will be asked
to finish it during their free time or morning recess*. In addition to their
daily homework, students should be studying spelling words and math
facts. Children should also be reading 30 minutes every night. Continued daily reading will not only help
their fluency, but it will also help them to become better spellers and
writers. ** While these guidelines are
in place to develop good study skills and teach responsibility, I completely
understand that schedules and other obligations sometimes get in the
way. If for some reason your child
cannot complete the homework on time, I ask that you send in a note
explaining why. I will then give him/her an extra day. I’d rather you do
that, then have your child stress out or try to rush through the assignment. |
